If you’ve recently explored our online collection, seen our pieces in person at a show, or are following along our journey on social media, you may have noticed that we’ve just launched a very exciting new project.
We are honored to share that Stonington Designs was invited to create an officially licensed America250™ capsule collection honoring America’s heritage. It is a true honor for our brand to create a new jewelry line in recognition of this historic milestone.
To tell the truth, this collaboration aligned naturally with our brand values. Our entire brand—from our craftsmanship to our designs to our people—has always been rooted in a deep respect for, and inspiration from, the great USA. I want to share with you a little bit about how this capsule collection came to be, as well as how the spirit and legacy of America is interwoven throughout each piece.
An All-American Jewelry Line
The collaboration began following a conversation at the July Atlanta Market, where representatives learned more about Stonington Designs and our approach to American craftsmanship. It was after that initial meeting that the conversation began about Stonington Designs creating an officially licensed America250™ capsule collection in celebration of the nation’s upcoming 250th birthday.
As we spoke with the wonderful people behind this initiative, it became clear that not only were our designs perfectly suited for the Semiquincentennial celebration of America’s birth, but that our core values were aligned as well.

Our designs incorporate time-honored Nantucket weaving techniques passed down through generations, adapted into modern heirloom jewelry with a distinct New England character.
Our materials include reclaimed premium hardwoods, selected and repurposed to honor both the land and the legacy behind each design. For this collection, we specifically featured white oak, the national wood of the United States.
Our base is a small, local woodshop here in Connecticut, where everything is handcrafted with care in small batches.
At every level of Stonington Designs, we have embedded a deep appreciation for American values, legacy, and craftsmanship into what we do. But nowhere does our patriotic pride shine more clearly than in the people we employ.
Proudly Crafted by Military Spouses
As beautiful and meaningful as our country’s aesthetics are, we know that American values are about so much more than appearances. That’s why a steadfast commitment to community is built into the heart of our business.
To provide flexible, artisan-standard work for military families, we started our Military Spouse Weaving Program.
I was inspired to start this program because Stonington Designs gave me the career flexibility I needed during a season when my family required my full attention. That experience showed me how meaningful it is to have work that can adapt to real life, and it planted a desire in me to offer that same kind of flexibility and stability to other women.
This idea became even clearer through a conversation I had with my daughter-in-law. My son, her husband, is an Air Force pilot, and her experience as a military spouse reminded me just how much military families sacrifice for our freedom every day.

My son, Michael, and his family.
As our business grew and I needed additional help with weaving, I kept thinking about the realities many military spouses face—often managing households on their own and navigating frequent relocations that make finding consistent work difficult. This program was created to meet them where they are. We offer military spouses free training, earning potential, and the opportunity for a flexible at-home work schedule—giving them an opportunity to learn a new skill while contributing to their family’s financial stability.
Each bracelet and cuff offered by Stonington Designs is meticulously woven by our Military Spouse Weavers with love and care.
